For only $6,000 one can own this little gem of awesomeness. It would definitely be a fantastic icebreaker…
I know someone once called him “the best friend a guitar ever had.”

I would give you SO MANY hugs, Dan, and as Ashley said, you deserved so many great things. I know hugs aren’t the same when they aren’t in person, but I promise that they’re there for you, anytime. xoxoxoxo
Thank you as always Jules. I’ll live vicariously through you this weekend as you visit Disneyland. I have many fantastic memories of the “Happiest Place on Earth” and my mom actually worked there for many years (although working at Disneyland isn’t the same as visiting Disneyland.) I’d like to revisit the park as an adult, especially since my love of Star Wars has fully developed and they just remade Star Tours. I distinctly remember going on that ride. In line I remember seeing C-3P0, but I couldn’t remember where I had seen him before. That was a long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away…)

hahaha excellent example!
Indeed, much can be learned from Indiana Jones. My favorite is that releasing the power of God will destroy the wicked…or the people who don’t turn around and shut their eyes.
callouslycasual replied to your post: Truthful Tuesday: Have I forgotten what success feels like?
Your words are beautifully chosen, and it is my hope to see you achieve both what you want and need, personally and professionally. You deserve many great things. :)
Your sentiment is appreciated. I have received similar sentiments from many of my peers. I will admit that I have focused on my volunteer duties to the point that I may have lost some perspective on the big picture. I do think taking a step back and re-examining things will help.

you are pretty fantastic, Dan!! I fully believe you will fulfill your dreams. xoxoxoxo
glitterbubbles replied to your link: So…you’re Jennifer Lawrence….
I love so much that the internet has fallen in love with Jennifer Lawrence, she seems fantastic. the boy from Billy Elliot also seems awesome. I should also point out that you are awesome! xoxoxoxo
It does appear that Jennifer Lawrence is everywhere and I would expect that for the star of a movie who had the third best opening weekend in history. Landing a role in a movie like The Hunger Games will do that for someone. She seems pretty cool and goofy to me, so I hope that initial impression isn’t ruined by scandalous nonsense.
Also, thank you for your continued support of my awesomeness. Right now I find myself thinking “I need a hug” frequently, and your imaginary internet hugs do help. I can best describe the feeling as having a poster of myself, looking distraught, with the caption “This man needs a hug” at the foot of the poster. These things would be everywhere in my imaginary world, like propaganda posters from WWII.
I feel like it’s been a painfully long time since I tasted a major success, and I am wonder if I’ve forgotten what it feels like to succeed. Think of the feeling as always being the bride’s maid but never the bride, being nominated for an Oscar five times and being snubbed, or playing/coaching a team for many years and not winning the title. In the feel good stories the bride’s maid gets married, the actor wins their Oscar and the player finally wins a title. Yet for every person that gets there, there are so many that don’t. In the actor and athlete case, the lack of a crowning achievement is often seen as a blemish on their career, regardless of its quality - particularly if they were good.
I want to believe that I’ll eventually find the success I am looking for, whether it be in my personal or professional life, it’s just hard to imagine right now. Maybe that’s the real issue. It’s been such a long time since the last major success, visualizing the next success feels like a foreign concept.
I don’t discount the successes I’ve had, but they haven’t been overwhelming or fulfilling to a a certain extent. Perhaps it is time for a different perspective, and I seek more value in those successes I have managed. So often what we are given is not what we ask for, yet it is what we need.
After reading/looking at this article about Jennifer Lawrence, I reached the following conclusions:
1. The boy from Billy Elliot is a lucky dude and “X-Men: First Class” was an awesome movie.
2. Every Kentuckian I have read about or come across loves basketball. It must be something in the air that you inhale once one crosses the state line. The same thing happens in Minnesota, only the sport is hockey.
Forgive me for the delay dear friend. Here are my answers.
5 things that irritate me about the opposite/same sex:
1. Women who fail to recognize the strengths the have and focus on things that they don’t have or have no control over.
2. People (men or women) who glorify trash, or people who embody the worst aspects of a mentality or culture (think Jersey Shore.)
3. Women whose personality drastically changes in the company of other women.
4. Women, especially ones who know they’re physically attractive, who feel their appearance gives them a license to treat other people (men or women) disrespectfully.
5. Women who feel it is necessary to compromise their values to feel valued.
How I’d spend $10,000:
I’d probably visit my ancestral homeland (Japan) and ride trains everywhere. I’d especially be interested in Hiroshima (where my family emigrated from) and Hokkaido, which is the snowy northernmost island. Maybe when I pass through Fukushima, I’d emerge with superpowers (one can only hope.)
My view on being Tumblr famous:
It depends on why someone is Tumblr famous. I have great respect for the people who devote considerable time and have an army of followers, although I wonder how their well they balance their lives away from Tumblr. I read something today that having a ridiculous amount of Facebook friends implies that someone has highly narcissistic qualities. I buy that argument to an extent. I think the same theory could be applied to those who are Tumblr famous. If you have the time and ability to create a legitimate legion of followers and can keep them engaged, I hope you can get compensated for your time.
I’m not going to lie, I was hoping this would happen. Here’s why:
1. When I started playing, I enjoyed the game but even in the early stages, I wasn’t necessarily blown away. I think I was a little put off by the hype and the fact that anything short of spectacular would be a major disappointment. I compare it to a band putting out an awesome first album and inevitably having a disappointing second album simply because it isn’t their first. Few artists can string together a string of brilliance for a sustained period of time; those that can are celebrated. That’s why I love the Beatles.
2. To me the solution seemed rather simple: release an alternative ending as DLC. The game makers were smart enough to do that, those that were dissatisfied with the ending can be appeased, while those who weren’t disappointed have the option to keep the game as it is. Basically, EA/Bioware allows gamers to - make a choice! I am willing to bet that even if someone was ok with the final decision, they’d still download the alternative ending because it’s interesting and they’ve invested so much in the story.
3. I personally have spent 135 hours playing the Mass Effect series to this point, or about five and a half full days. By the time I’m done, it will likely be a full week of game time - straight. I took my sweet time and was really deliberate in my decision making. This game offers me a chance to carefully consider every crucial decision and understand the consequences.
I don’t have that luxury in reality, which is what makes it reality. In Mass Effect, I can do things over. I can press pause and move on when I feel like I’m ready. The world stops for me. It is an opportunity to turn the tables on the world, life, and reality if only hypothetically.
On a personal level, I really want to know what would happen if I was able to do something absolutely the way I wanted to over the course of five years and know that it will turn out the best way possible.
What I hope doesn’t happen:
That the new content turns Mass Effect 3 into Return of the Jedi: Special Edition. The game becomes modified to the point that it is garbage and proves to be disservice to any final chapter of an epic saga like the aforementioned example. I better not see the equivalent of a redone Jabba’s Palace scene in Mass Effect 3. That will not stand…
