Trivia Recap in Five Sentences
Finish today: Tied for 1st. Lost on a tiebreaker.
Winnings:
1. A free pitcher of beer - deferred to next time.
2. Free tickets to the Winter Park inter-tubing hill for the overall title. (Awesome!)
That Guy: Obnoxious, especially after his team lost the three way tiebreaker for 1st place and after he disputed the answer to win a small Coors sponsored grill.
Mike and I were late to Trivia. Had...

Dr. Who Coat of Arms T-shirt →
Hi friends. As Jules can attest, Teefury has awesome t-shirts featuring a variety of clever, geeky designs available every day for $10. Since I know several of you like Dr. Who, take a look at today’s design. You’ll have about 12 hours to act on it, otherwise it will vanish forever.
Also, this I am still on a sabbatical, but felt a few of you would be interested in today’s...

DTM announces a sabbatical (Press conference...
DangerDTM: My friends, I come to you this evening with a heavy heart. At the moment, I feel as though I cannot devote the level of energy necessary to compose Tumblr material to which you are accustomed and to my personal standards. With that in mind, I must take a brief sabbatical from my blogging until I am in a position to consistently produce material that I feel does my followers and myself justice. Since I returned to the Tumblrverse, it has been my goal to produce fun, enlightening material that enriches the lives of others. I am pleased that I have reached that goal, but it has become increasingly difficult to maintain the standard I set over the past few weeks. My hope and intention is to maintain such a standard, which requires more energy and devotion than I am in a position to provide. As someone who values quality and thoughtful work, I see it as my responsibility to create an environment where I can manifest my thoughts to the fullest and to take whatever measures necessary to achieve that end.
Reporter: Dan, what prompted you to make such a decision?
DangerDTM: I've been intensely focused on finding a job as a sports information director for an athletic department, and the hiring season is rapidly approaching. It's been harder to find the energy I need to write cover letters and such, which is where the priority needs to be right now. That's not to say that what I've done on the blog hasn't helped, it has, I just need to focus on finding a position right now.
Reporter: How long do you anticipate the sabbatical to be?
DangerDTM: Hopefully not too long. I felt it necessary to inform the followers of what is going on. I want to be as open as possible about it and make sure they know it's nothing personal or that something more sinister is going on.
Reporter: You mentioned something about your energy level, could you elaborate?
DangerDTM: Of course. In the past few days, I have felt like I have slugs coursing through my veins. I have felt more fatigued than I have in some time. I am an introverted guy, so I am aware I have a lower energy threshold. I think it is a result of many things like meeting a bunch of new people, adjusting my biological clock, and just being more focused and motivated than I ever have been. When I add all those things up, it's a formula for exhaustion.
Reporter: What about the quality of your Tumblr work?
DangerDTM: I spend 2-3 hours every day creating material after I get done with my internship at the athletic department and I am not sure I can sustain that level of effort indefinitely. I hold myself to a high standard with my Tumblr work, as you all have seen, and it is important to me to maintain that standard in terms of depth and quality. If I can't then I need to get myself in a position where I can.
Reporter: Any further comments?
DangerDTM: I'll do my best to keep everybody in the loop, so they can know what to expect from me in the near future. You'll know when I know. Taking some time away usually helps me feel refreshed when I return, so I am confident that this sabbatical will be no different. Of course, any feedback is welcome, and thank you all for tuning in so adamantly.

Football to Football Part 4: Roles and Personnel -...
Pace and rhythm
Futbol moves at a constant, free flowing pace. The onion is always in motion. Plays are improvised, and each player on the field (called the “pitch” in England) simultaneously has an offensive and a defensive responsibility.
Roles and Positions
I will explain each role according the above diagram, which is called a “4-4-2.” A 4-4-2 refers to the...

Trivia Recap Mardi Gras/Grand Prize Edition
A controversy overshadowed the win by “We don’t do cocaine but we like the way it smells” at Boone’s Tavern Trivia Night Tuesday. “Cocaine” answered a tiebreaker question to clinch victory after scoring 57 points in three rounds. In a Louisiana/Mardi Gras themed Trivia Night, “Cocaine’s” estimate of 1.2 million sq. miles for the size of the...

callouslycasual answered your question: Football to Football Part 2: Leagues and Tiers
Frankly, I learned a great deal. Heretofore, my experience with the NFL was limited to Super Nintendo.
Super Nintendo is as good a place as any. There are several quality sports games out there, and plenty of garbage ones too. With you, my goal is to help you understand football better so you can enjoy the...

This is so helpful, Dan. At this rate, I might actually know what’s going on next season. Thank you for teaching me your American ways.
That is my hope. I hope to teach the Americans a little more about the Premier League and professional footy. Perhaps all involved will know enough about each game to...

Football to Football Part 3: Roles and Personnel -...
Understanding the role of each player creates a better understanding of how the game is played. Football and futbol are similar in the sense that there are 11 players on the field for each team at the same time. In both sports, the objective is for the offense to creating scoring chances while the defense tries to prevent scoring chances, and it is here where the first distinction between the two...

Football to Football Part 2: Leagues and Tiers
Football and futbol are enjoyed all over the world at the professional and amateur level although they are structured differently.
Professional Football Structure
Football’s foremost professional league is known as the National Football League, or NFL (shown below.) The league consists of 32 teams. There are two Conferences, American and National (just like baseball) who each have four...

Football to Football: Part 1, Defining the Game...
When talking about “football” and “football” there is a pressing need to distinguish between the two. The definition of “football” in the United States differs from the definition of “football” in the rest of the world. With that in mind, I will make a clear distinction so we avoid confusion as we move forward.
1. football (American):
A. The game...

I will not pay to see the full movie, but I’d want to see a scene in 3D where Jar Jar’s eyes fall out like an old episode of Looney Tunes. That would be worth it.

The Beatles Challenge Day 28
28- Your favorite Beatles hairstyle Day
The diagram above illustrates the evolution of the Beatles hairstyles during their time together. In many ways they evolve with the music. In 1967, we see the emergence of the mustache variation, coinciding with the release of “Sgt.
